The Path Photography

Artist Statement

Most carry on day to day and do not stop to see what goes unseen.
I intend to show you that not seen. I intend to make you feel.
I intend to capture beauties in nature & in the life of bygone days.
My hopes for our World go into each & every photo I have Her permission to show you.
I travel down roads that see little use, to find hidden treasures to the eye.
I traipse across fields to reveal someone’s forgotten past.
I see myself as an archivalist of sorts, documenting things the earth does not want us to lose sight of.
I’m just a small part of a vast expanse; my hopes are to make a difference.

Education

My education has been self-taught over the course of the last five years. School has consisted of Basic 35mm & Repeated Darkroom for Black & White @ Richland College Continue Ed.
Books & Publications that have aided greatly: Ansel Adams Series by Morgan & Morgan Press; Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson; Pop Photo Magazine. Reading my Filters and Films Technical Guides.
Organizations such as Texas Photographic Society and web boards APUG.org have enabled me to grow through competitions and information.
I collect & study other photographers.
Film types used consist of Kodak HIE Infrared BW; Ilford Pan F and Delta 100; Kodak Tmax 100; Kodak Tungsten 160; Fuji Velvia.
The Print: Traditional, I develop & print in darkroom. I am using Ilford & Oriental papers and a variety of chemicals for B&W. I have begun to tone some of my images. I use Ilford’s Ilfachrome, once known as Cibachrome, to produce the color slide film prints. I still have the lab develop my slide film.
